Hey there!  Did you know that you were visiting My Husband Hates Veggies at our OLD location?  Don’t you want to come see us at our shiny and NEW location?  Click here!

Apparently, when you mention a certain young starlet in the title of a blog post, little food blogs like this one garner quite a bit of traffic.  Unfortunately,  its the ‘inundated with comments featuring XXX pingbacks and porno links’ kind of traffic.  So as not to allow the insidious internet autobots to interfere with your enjoyment of this delicious fondue, I present you with a slightly modified post, with names retracted to protect the not-so-innocent.

This just in: Chocolate fondue is ridiculously easy to make.

As in: Weeknight easy. As in: You won’t be away from your guests for very long easy. As in: You can dip practically anything into it easy. (Which kind of makes it [insert starlet’s name here] easy.)

Chocolate Fondue
serves 4

10 – 12 ounces bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup heavy cream
pinch of salt
optional: 2 tablespoons amaretto, grand marnier, kahlua, etc…

In a saucepan, scald the cream (warm it until just before boiling.) Remove the pot from the heat, and stir in your chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate bar pieces.) Stir well until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the pinch of salt, and 2 tablespoons of liqueur (if using.) If the chocolate isn’t smooth, add tiny amounts of cream and stir until you’ve reached the proper consistency. Serve right out of the hot pot, or, if you have a fondue pot, pour into the pot set over a small tealight flame. Serve immediately, stirring every so often to prevent chocolate from scalding.

Serve with: brownie chunks, pound cake, assorted berries, pretzels, bananas, butter cookies, graham crackers, balls of cookie dough, broken tips of Jimmy Choo heels and varying amounts of self esteem.
